‘Mentality’ and ‘nearly men’ Despairing Kris Boyd calls out Danny Rohl’s bottlers

Kris Boyd fears that Danny Rohl has assembled another squad full of bottlers at Ibrox.

Everything in Boyd’s world was happy and glorious between 12 noon and 1pm on Saturday.

Rohl’s side were world beaters as the accolades rolled in.

Trophy starved bears witnessed Youssef Chermiti score the greatest goal in the history of mankind as Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi saluted the brilliance on social media.

Plus BBC Scotland and Daily Record experts such as Keith Jackson.

Instantly the first half display was voted the Most Dominant Ever in the 14 year history of the Glasgow Derby.

All this based on three shots on target against a team that had played in Germany on Thursday night.

With Vil Sinisalo playing his second SPFL match of the season, behind Dane Murray in his fourth it was hardly surprising that Celtic looked vulnerable.

Boyd and the bears were starting to plan their title parties during the half time break as the anthems of hate blared around Ibrox.

Could it be at Celtic Park in the post split fixture that their second SPFL Premiership title is won. The first in front of supporters.

HALF TIME DELIGHT FOR DELUDED BOYD

All sorts of projections were being made with a 3-0 win over Celtic the minimum expectation. It could be four or five.

Nothing could wipe the smile off Boyd’s face. Except the start of the second half! And goals from Kieran Tierney and Reo Hatate.

Post match Boyd was being serenaded by 2,000 Celtic fans behind the Sky Sports studio at Ibrox.

In the cold light of day it looks like Boyd will be missing out on another title party. This wasn’t what he had in mind when he planned a career in the media.

The Daily Record reports Boyd saying:

Mentality will always be questioned until you start winning things. You know, there’s no point in being the nearly men.

‌People have spoken about Celtic over the years. There’s been times where they’ve not been at their best, but they’ve found a way to win games.

They’ve shown the kind of mentality that pulls them over the line.

They’ve developed the understanding, that know-how to go and win titles, to go and win cups.

‌You look at Rangers right now, it’s always going to be questioned until they start winning cups on a regular basis and they start winning leagues again. Unfortunately, that’s the nature of the beast.

    DESPAIR OF REALITY FOR BOYD

Celtic fans have been telling Boyd for years that James Tavernier is a serial loser.

More recently Super Jack Butland and Nicky Raskin have been mocked while Boyd portrays them as world beaters.

John Souttar is the worst captain since Tavpen.

After a very fortunate run of results to cushion Rohl into Scottish football reality is here.

Points have been dropped to Motherwell, Livingston and Celtic.

A home win over Hearts gave the bears fresh delusions.

With 8,000 Celtic fans heading to Ibrox on Sunday the odds are stacking up against Boyd and Rohl.

As someone once said, it is the hope that kills them.
