Leeds United get Endrick answer as summer transfer lined up for Real Madrid star

Leeds were linked with several names in the winter, admittedly some more ambitious than the others, and Real Madrid’s Endrick was one of them.
It was claimed that the Whites had been doing checks on the Brazilian ahead of a potential summer move, though Fichajes have since shut down those hopes.
Their latest reports state that Endrick has decided that his future is with the LaLiga giants, despite spending the current campaign on loan at Lyon.
Endrick has three goals and an assist in four Ligue 1 games since his winter arrival, having also scored in both of their Coupe de France encounters.
What was Leeds United’s plan with Endrick?
Leeds weren’t the only English side mooted with an interest in the teenager, with Sunderland and Tottenham also among those linked.
While it would have been an ambitious move, the Brazilian’s lack of regular minutes for Real Madrid had certainly started to cast a shadow of doubt over his future.
He made 37 appearances for the Spanish outfit in his first season, which certainly doesn’t seem to be anything of great concern, but 22 of those came in LaLiga, and he was named in the starting 11 just three times.
That lack of gametime continued into the early stages of the current campaign, when the 19-year-old had made just three appearances for Real Madrid across three different competitions.
Leeds will almost certainly have identified him as a potential game-changer, but as things look right now, there is next to no chance of a deal being struck.
Who could make Elland Road switch instead?
That will largely come down to what Leeds actually saw in Endrick.
The 19-year-old is still learning his trade in European football, and as a result, he has played across several positions, but most notably at striker or on the right wing.
Endrick has featured 90 times as a striker in his career, with 30 goals and three assists.
In comparison, he has only featured 10 times as a right winger, with two goals and one assist throughout that period.
If Leeds had identified him to fill a void for the latter, then Harry Wilson would remain the most obvious alternative.
However, if the Whites saw him as someone who could lead the line, then it may have been a far-fetched rumour given the lack of physicality in his game.
