Mauricio Pochettino could ‘convince’ Harry Kane to re-sign for Tottenham in sensational move

Tottenham could have a chance of sensationally bringing Harry Kane back to the club if Mauricio Pochettino becomes their next permanent manager.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who expects Kane to remain at Bayern Munich.

Kane is in talks over his future at Bayern Munich, with his contract at the Bundesliga club set to expire in 2027.

The 32-year-old, who came through Spurs‘ youth system, made over 300 appearances for the club before leaving for Bayern Munich in 2023.

Harry Kane ‘is going to be staying in Germany’

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – states that if Spurs hire Pochettino as their next permanent manager, he may be able to “convince” Kane to return to north London.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes Kane has proved “irreplaceable” at the club since his departure.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “No, I don’t think there is. I think it would be pie in the sky. I don’t think it will happen.

“The possibility of Pochettino may be able to convince him, but I think Kane will re-sign in Germany again, and I think he’s loving it over there. He’s having great success. So no, I don’t see anything coming back.

“I think it’s just really wishful thinking at the moment for Harry to come back. Really, since he’s gone, he has proved to be irreplaceable in the Spurs team.

“Him and Son, of course, were a great duo working together, and it’s been very hard to replicate that. But no, much as I would wish for Harry to come back to the British game, I think he’s going to be staying in Germany, where he’s very settled and seems to be very happy.”

    Tottenham to pursue Everton star

Spurs have been linked with a move for Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, following his impressive performances on Merseyside.

Everton have no intentions of selling Dewsbury-Hall after just one season at the club, with the 27-year-old proving to be a key player for David Moyes.

Dewsbury-Hall is the club’s joint top goalscorer with five goals this season, and he has registered four assists in 19 Premier League appearances.
