Andreas Skov Olsen yellow card for Rangers vs Hearts deemed incorrect – ‘This is not an act of simulation’

The Gers welcomed Derek McInnes’ side to Ibrox, knowing that they needed to secure a victory to truly keep their title chances alive.
Things started in far from ideal fashion when Marc Leonard netted a beauty to give the away side a 1-0 lead after just 16 minutes.
A Michael Steinwender own goal got the Light Blues back in it before Claudio Braga and Youssef Chermiti had their say to bring the scoreline up to 2-2.
Things could have been different if a penalty had gone the way of Skov Olsen, but he was booked for diving, wrongly in the eyes of Keith Hackett.

Andreas Skov Olsen wrongly booked for diving vs Hearts
The Danish forward may feel vindicated knowing that he was seemingly treated harshly by Don Robertson at Ibrox.
The referee was quick to draw a yellow card and prove a point to the Dane that his antics weren’t going to pull the wool over his eyes.

If the match official had taken a second longer, he may have reached a different decision, but it may not have been the one that Skov Olsen wanted.
Former FIFA official Hackett has suggested the referee should have let play continue, with this being an example of a contact sport and nothing else.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Hackett said: “This is not an act of simulation, and football is a contact sport.
“Not every contact is a foul or an act of simulation.
“Frankly, give nothing; it’s football, and these incidents of accidental contact take place.
“No foul, no yellow card.“
Skov Olsen decision could have gone either way for Rangers
It’s clear in the mind of Hackett that no decision would have been the best decision, but Rohl and Co. may feel differently.
There is no real reason for Skov Olsen to go down in that situation, as he has already breezed past Islam Chesnokov inside the penalty area.
The Kazakhstan international certainly made contact with the Dane, it is just a question of whether it was enough to send him down.
Robertson didn’t think so, but the Gers didn’t let the call impact them as Chermiti went on to make it 3-2 in the second half.
Skov Olsen played a key role in the 21-year-old’s header and clearly put the initial annoyance of his yellow card behind him.
