West Ham fans ‘love’ what was captured by TV cameras in win vs Burton – ‘Absolute class’

The plane, which carried the words “Sullivan and Brady out”, was captured by television cameras as it flew over Burton’s Pirelli Stadium during the first half.
Anger against the West Ham board has been intensifying among fans for many years, and has appeared to reach boiling point this season.
The Hammers are fighting relegation from the Premier League amid poor performances under both Graham Potter and Nuno Espirito Santo.
Despite Freddie Potts’ red card in extra time, West Ham progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday via Crysencio Summerville’s strike.
West Ham fans love scenes vs Burton Albion
Protests against both Brady and Sullivan are nothing new, they have been taking place for years.
Fans have often walked out of games early, stayed in their seats well beyond full-time, or even just not turned up at all.
And for good reason. The Hammers have been on a downward spiral since David Moyes’ departure at the end of the 2023-24 season.
| West Ham – Season | Premier League finishing position |
| 25-26 (ongoing) | 18th |
| 24-25 | 14th |
| 23-24 | 9th |
| 22-23 | 14th |
| 21-22 | 7th |
| 20-21 | 6th |
The Scot had led his side to win the Conference League in 2023, and his side had finished ninth in the Premier League in his final season.
But West Ham sought a new direction and brought in Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard, Potter, and now Nuno have all overseen a two-year collapse that now has the Hammers in an extremely perilous position.
The former two were undoubtedly terrible appointments, and the jury is still out on Nuno, but all three have suffered from terrible squad planning by those above them.
West Ham have constantly underperformed in the market, seeing remarkably little return on the £105million they received for Declan Rice.
That is the reason for protests like Saturday’s, and fans of the Hammers took to social media to show their support for the message.
“Proud to see our fans are actually taking a stand, and there is diehard fans left that actually want to make a difference and get the vermin out of the club,” wrote one fan.
Another the banner was “absolutely class”, while another wrote: “Oh I love this fanbase”.
West Ham fans protest in stands
The protests on Saturday were not just contained to the sky, fans held up banners in the stands as well.
West Ham fans held up the words “time to sell, name your price. BS out”, with other fans holding red cards that displayed a similar message.
Even if the Hammers do miraculously stay up this season, both Brady and Sullivan should be aware that the protests are not going anywhere.
West Ham fans want change, and they will not rest until the club is in safer hands.
