Jason Cundy explodes at ‘absolutely terrible’ Leeds as he loses mind over Chelsea draw: ‘I feel sick’

Jason Cundy live on air on talkSPORT, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke smiling.

Leeds United supporters will take great pleasure in Jason Cundy’s post-match rant after their 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Tuesday.

Daniel Farke‘s side produced a stunning fightback at Stamford Bridge on 10 February after initially going 2-0 down.

Lukas Nmecha scored from the penalty spot, and Noah Okafor notched an equaliser that could prove crucial in the Premier League survival race.

The result leaves the Elland Road side sitting 15th in the top-flight, six points above the relegation zone with 12 matches left to play.

What did Cundy say about Leeds’ draw with Chelsea?

Cundy is one of the most prominent Chelsea fans in the mainstream media, and he often passionately talks about his beloved club.

It is safe to say that he did not take the Whites’ comeback very well, as he launched an emotional tirade after the result.

The former Blues ace lost his mind live on talkSPORT on 10 February, saying: “I feel sick. I genuinely feel sick about what I have just watched at Stamford Bridge.

“It is almost inconceivable that we have not won that game. We were 2-0 up, they scored the next goal and then, I can’t talk about it anymore.

“We were 2-0 up and cruising, and then we get a punch on the nose and reel for 15-20 minutes, and then Leeds somehow get back into it.

“I was then more fearful about Leeds going on and winning it. They were terrible, by the way, Leeds, absolutely terrible.”

Why Cundy is simply wrong about Leeds’ comeback

Cundy is just being bitter, labelling the Peacocks as terrible, as ultimately, they did what they needed to get a positive result, and left him reeling in the process.

While it may have been a sloppy performance from Farke’s side, with just four shots in the entire match, per Sofascore, they showed the fight that is necessary to stay in the top-flight.

The promoted side would not have expected to have much of the possession, and that was the case on the night as they were restricted to just 34 per cent of the ball, compared to the hosts’ 66 per cent.

    Stats Chelsea Leeds
    Possession 66% 34%
    Shots 19 4
    Shots on target 4 2
    Corners 4 1

The match stats between Chelsea and Leeds. However, they made it count when they did have it, and that it what matters, as it has helped their position in the league table.

If the LS11 outfit just tried to play attacking football all game and go at the Blues, it would not have earned them the result that they needed.

They went about it in the right way, and they ended up with a point, which is better than none at this stage of the campaign.

Now, focus must turn to the next match, and Farke must come up with a game plan that frustrates the opposition’s supporters as much as the Chelsea clash irritated Cundy.
