Leeds Want to Sign £15m Man Utd Star in Shock Summer Deal

Leeds United are eyeing a surprise deal to sign Manchester United star Tyrell Malacia on a free transfer this summer, according to Sports Boom.
The Whites have had a strong season so far in the Premier League as a newly-promoted club and currently sit in 15th place in the table, six points above the relegation zone, with Daniel Farke hoping to avoid the drop for the first time in his managerial career.
The club are already making plans for the new season, despite not knowing what division they’ll be playing in, and they have targeted one experienced start to come in and compete for a spot in their squad.
Leeds Eyeing Man Utd Star Malacia

Malacia, who signed for Man Utd from Feyenoord in a deal worth £15m back in 2022 initially started his time at the club competing for the left-back spot alongside Luke Shaw, before suffering a serious knee injury that saw him miss almost 18 months of action.
The Netherlands international was expected to depart Old Trafford last summer, but no move materialised and the player was eventually brought back into contention in the first-team as the season progressed. However, with his contract at the club set to expire in the summer, he is in the final months of his spell with the team.
No talks are ongoing over his future, and that has opened the door for clubs in Europe and abroad to open talks with the player regarding a potential free transfer. But Leeds, alongside Sunderland, are also showing an interest in his services, and there is confidence that he could be convinced to stay in the Premier League.
Leeds currently have Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sam Byram, and James Justin who are capable of playing at left-back or left wing-back, but Malacia would provide top-level experience, and would be a cheap option on a free transfer, with Byram’s contract at Elland Road also on the verge of expiry.
Malacia Could Make Historic Move

Aside from that, the last first-team transfer between the sides saw Alan Smith go the opposite way. But the rivalry between the clubs usually makes such a move almost impossible, with Rio Ferdinand still booed every time he rocks up to Elland Road.
But with Malacia it would be different. Man Utd fans are unlikely to begrudge him a move away, and Leeds can offer regular football. Leeds fans will also likely be more welcoming of someone joining rather than leaving, so this could be a move that suits all parties if he can overcome his injury problems.
