Rangers vs Hearts postponement latest as Met Office weather warning issued

The UK is set for a weekend of miserable weather, with Glasgow no exception on the day of Rangers’ clash with Hearts.

From Friday to Sunday, the Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings across the country, with snow and ice possible in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on Saturday.

This warning is extended into Sunday, the day that Rangers take on Hearts at Ibrox in a critical top of the table clash.

The weather is expected to be worse on Saturday than Sunday. However, there could still be implications for the massive clash in Glasgow.

Will Rangers vs Hearts be postponed?

The likelihood of a postponement this weekend seems very small as of now, with Sunday not expected to be the harshest in comparison to Saturday.

Though it does carry the potential to cause problems for the visiting supporters, making the trip from the capital more difficult, with a sold-out allocation for the relatively short trip to Glasgow.

Sunday’s clash kicks off at 16:30 GMT, bringing an end to the weekend’s matches – and it could be a defining fixture.

Rangers and Hearts set for defining clash in harsh conditions

There aren’t many things that sum up football on these isles more than what could be a defining match in some harsh conditions.

Hearts make the trip to Ibrox carrying a five-point lead over Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership following their dramatic Edinburgh derby win, while Danny Rohl’s side dropped points against Motherwell.

Rangers missed a big chance against Motherwell – a win at Fir Park would have made it possible to draw level with Hearts this weekend.

Now, though, it is potentially the last chance to make a big statement in the title race.

Sunday’s match is win at all costs for Rangers, with some lovely British weather conditions to go alongside.
