Four West Ham players eye FA Cup debuts; ‘special’ teen and under-the-radar January signing
West Ham United will have the luxury of putting their Premier League survival battle to the back of their minds for a few days, as Burton Albion loom in the FA Cup fourth round.
A clash against the team sitting fourth-from bottom in England’s third tier also offers Nuno Espirito Santo the chance to shuffle his pack, rest a few stars, while giving a couple of fringe players and rising stars some rare first-team minutes.
Here are four West Ham United talents we, at Hammers News, feel might be in line for a full debut at the Pirelli Stadium this Saturday.

Will Nuno ring the chances for Burton? 🛎️ 🏆
Which youngster do you want to see make his full West Ham debut?
Adama Traore
The £2 million January signing from Fulham has been restricted to a handful of minutes spread across three substitute appearances so far. But that was probably the idea.
Adama Traore brings ‘unique’ qualities to West Ham, to paraphrase Nuno himself. Though his greatest attributes – searing pace and an ability to drag his team up the pitch – certainly lend themselves to a ‘supersub’ role.
At least, in league action.
Should Nuno conclude that neither Jarrod Bowen or Crysencio Summerville will be required from the off against a team hovering just above the League One relegation zone, Traore may be on hand to bully the Brewers.

Keiber Lamadrid
Speaking of wingers signed in the winter window, a little-known Venezuelan showed his new supporters what all the fuss is about. Keiber Lamadrid marked his West Ham U21 debut in style last week. A glorious curling shot fired ruthlessly into the back of the opposition net.
According to his agent, Lamadrid was brought in as a ‘first-team’ signing, rather than a reserve.
If he is to turn a temporary deal into a permanent one to the tune of just £1 million – West Ham have described Lamadrid as a ‘lottery ticket’ signing; ‘low risk, high reward’ – a cup clash with Burton Albion surely represents his best chance of showcasing the qualities which made him the 2025 Venezuelan league Young Player of the Year.
Mohamadou Kante
While Ezra Mayers started the 2-1 victory over QPR in round three, another youngster who made his senior debut last December will surely have had the trip to Staffordshire circled on his calendar.
Loans and pathways manager Carlton Cole labels Mohamadou Kante the ‘shining beacon’ of their current Under-21 crop. Even at the age of 20, the former Paris FC prospect possesses the physical qualities and the running power to outmuscle opposition players a decade his senior.
What do YOU want to see in the FA Cup fourth round? 🏆
Or, ‘who’ do you want to see?

A host of clubs in England and abroad wanted Kante on loan last month. Now that the window has closed, a maiden start against third-tier opposition is surely in Nuno’s thoughts.
A versatile attacking midfielder who caught the eye during the pre-season tour of the USA, the 19-year-old has already proven himself capable of running rings around senior opposition. He scored twice in a 5-0 EFL Trophy thrashing of MK Dons earlier in the campaign.
