West Ham fans will love what Michael Carrick had to say after Man United draw

West Ham United were cruelly denied all three points against Manchester United by a last-minute Benjamin Sesko equaliser.
West Ham drew 1-1 with Man United on Tuesday evening at London Stadium, a result which leaves them two points adrift of safety in the Premier League.
Tomas Soucek put the Hammers ahead just after the half-time break, ghosting into the area and finishing left-footed past Senne Lammens.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were pegged back with seconds remaining, substitute Sesko stealing a march on Axel Disasi and expertly guiding Bryan Mbeumo’s cross into the top corner.
Michael Carrick makes West Ham survival admission
Despite conceding right at the death, West Ham can take some heart from the fact that they are the first side Man United have dropped points against since Michael Carrick took interim charge.
Carrick led the Red Devils to four straight victories before their trip to London Stadium, recording wins over Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham.
However, on the night, there was very little to separate the two teams, and the Hammers gave a very good account of themselves.
Speaking after the game, Carrick, who came through at West Ham and spent five years in the first team, admitted that he would love to see his former side stay in the Premier League.
In his post-match interview with TNT Sports, the Red Devils boss said: “Now we’re kind of done with them (West Ham), I’d love them to stay up.
“It was a big part of my life growing up, and I have great memories here, so hopefully they do.”
Will West Ham survive in Premier League?
West Ham have been superb since they were beaten 2-1 by Nottingham Forest at the start of January, winning three and drawing one of their last five matches.
The Hammers are now only two points behind 17th-place Forest, although Sean Dyche’s side do have a game in hand, facing Wolves at the City Ground on Wednesday evening.

If they keep up their current form, there is no doubt that the East London outfit have enough to pull themselves out of trouble.
However, it remains to be seen whether they can continue their good run over the next few weeks, as they face the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa before the end of March.
