Former Rangers fan favourite Vaclav Cerny has found himself as the centre of a major transfer fued with his new club forced to publicly hit out at reports he is unhappy in Turkey.
Cerny has gone on to score seven times and contribute a further six assists in 19 appearances so far this season, with Besiktas currently sitting fifth in the table. But they have been left unsettled after reports emerged last week claiming the Czech Republic international was already on the look-out for a new club.
It was suggested in print by media outlet Fanatik that Cerny had asked to leave in the January transfer window, but his exit request was blocked by club chiefs, who view him as an integral member of their squad.
The reports also adds that the wide man summoned his agent, David Mehoda to Istanbul for crisis talks before informing the board of his desire to leave at the end of the campaign.

Those claims have led club officials to respond angrily by insisting it was an attempt to destabilise them. A club statement read: “The news published in Fanatik Newspaper under the headline ‘Vaclav Cerny Crisis at Beşiktaş’ is entirely baseless in all its elements.
“The report claiming that Cerny wanted to leave our team during the mid-season transfer period but our Board of Directors did not permit it, and that through his manager, Cerny conveyed to our Board of Directors that he was unhappy and wanted to leave our team at the end of the season, is completely a product of imagination.
“We kindly request our fans not to give credence to fabricated news stories prepared at a desk with the intent to tarnish our team, and we present this to the attention of the public with our respects.”
How has Vaclav Cerny fared since moving to Turkey?
Cerny signed for Besiktas in a deal worth around £6m last September after starring on loan at Rangers, in which he notched 18 goals across all competitions including 12 in 33 league outings.
The Light Blues were exploring a deal to bring him back to the club, but they were unable to lure the player back to Glasgow with no permanent transfer forthcoming.
Instead, he ended up in the Middle East after agreeing a three-year contract. One of his main highlights since joining Besiktas came against fierce city rivals Fenerbahce, scoring twice in a last-gasp 2-1 Turkish Cup victory back in December.
