Max Aarons ruled out as triple Rangers injury update drops vs Motherwell

    Max Aarons looks on
The Scottish Premiership title race continues as Rangers travel away to face Motherwell on Wednesday evening.

The Gers go to Fir Park with a lot of confidence after scoring 13 goals in their last two matches.

Additionally, Ryan Naderi’s brace on his full debut against Queen’s Park is sure to help the German settle in ahead of a crucial few months.

Kris Boyd expects Danny Rohl to utilise set pieces, with three points an absolute must if they want to continue to put pressure on league leaders Hearts.

Naderi’s tall frame means he can be a danger in those situations, but whether he starts is up in the air following a team news update, including the latest on Max Aarons.

Rangers injury latest ahead of facing Motherwell

Aarons is set to miss Rangers’ trip to Motherwell, with the Englishman currently out injured, but Rohl has also been given a double boost.

Aarons had been set to start against Queen’s Park, but this latest injury meant James Tavernier took his place at right-back.

That enforced change was inspired as Tavernier was exceptional, scoring a hat-trick against the second-tier outfit with a couple of assists too.

Additionally, Emmanuel Fernandez has been confirmed available for the clash in Lanarkshire, which is a huge boost in defence.

In attack, Rohl has a slight selection headache as Youssef Chermiti is available, and with Naderi still inexperienced in Scotland, the choice may not be as straightforward as expected.

Rohl has full attacking options available at Rangers

While Chermiti is available, and new signing Naderi has impressed, Rohl also has Bojan Miovski to call up as an option in the final third.

The North Macedonian international was also on the scoresheet in the recent Scottish Cup clash against Queen’s Park.

This season, he has not been at his best, scoring just four goals in 20 league appearances. He is now ultimately third choice at Ibrox.

Even still, his presence alone does provide Rangers with value.

Having the option of three different forwards, who all offer something different, will delight the Rangers manager.

With a title in sight, having multiple ways of breaking down opposition will be key, with three points critical ahead of that huge showdown with Hearts at Ibrox on Sunday.
