Rangers fans ecstatic as ‘fantastic’ Celtic news confirmed

Danny Rohl stares towards a pair of circular insets, which feature Rangers and Celtic fans respectively.

Rangers fans have grown increasingly confident in their team as their fine form has continued in recent weeks.

The Gers have now lost just once in their last 17 domestic outings, with their sole defeat in Scottish competitions coming against table-toppers Hearts on 21 December.

Rangers’ run has included a huge win over Celtic at the start of January, and the Ibrox outfit have now emerged as the favourites to reel in Derek McInnes’ side in the title race.

Danny Rohl’s men have completely transformed their fortunes in recent months, and their fans are now brimming with confidence as the business end of the season approaches on the horizon.

Rangers fans delighted with Celtic draw in Scottish Cup – ‘Bring it on’

Rangers destroyed Queen’s Park 8-0 on Sunday to ensure their progression to the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup.

James Tavernier netted a hat-trick for Rohl’s side, while there was also a double for Ryan Naderi, who scored his first goals in Rangers colours after moving from Hansa Rostock on deadline day.

The Gers are gunning for cup glory alongside their title push in the league, and it has now been confirmed that they will face a home tie against bitter rivals Celtic in the quarter-final.

The tie will be played on the weekend of 7-8 March, and Rangers fans have taken to social media to share their delight at the opportunity to knock their neighbours out of the competition.

Supporters took to X to react to the announcement of the fixture, with one labelling it a “fantastic draw,” while several called for another 8-0 victory.

Several fans were also delighted by the fact that Rangers now have the chance to beat their rivals twice in one week on home turf, with their next league meeting set to take place on 1 March.

    • @1690_Batlord: “Time to end their season in the space of seven days.”
    • @1872Blue_: “O’Neill won’t survive getting battered at Ibrox two weeks in a row.”
    • @karrawoo: “Bring it on.”

What are the other Scottish Cup ties?

Celtic edged past Dundee after extra time on Saturday, as they found it much more difficult to earn their progression than Rangers did.

However, while the draw has pitted the pair of Old Firm rivals against each other in the quarter-final, both clubs will undoubtedly fancy their chances of going on to win the entire competition.

Hearts have already been knocked out, while the next round still features two teams from the Championship.

St Mirren are set to take on Partick Thistle, while Dunfermline will face the winner of Wednesday’s clash between Aberdeen and Motherwell.

The final quarter-final tie will see Falkirk welcome the winner of Dundee United vs Spartans of League Two, which is set to be played on Tuesday.
