West Ham v Burnley team news: Axel Disasi debut call and first start in 5 months for one Hammer

Nuno confirmed Axel Disasi would be available despite concerns over his lack of match sharpness. And the Chelsea loanee steps into the XI just days after joining. This will be Disasi’s first Premier League appearance since April 2025, when he was at Aston Villa.

Disasi will wear the number four shirt vacated by Edson Alvarez when he joined Fenerbahce on loan last summer.

Callum Wilson also makes his first start since the 3-0 Wolves calamity a month ago. Many of our Hammers News readers felt Wilson deserved another go, and he steps in for January recruit Pablo Felipe in a move which could see Taty Castellanos move into the number ten role.

West Ham are in EXACTLY the same position as in their ‘Great Escape’ season! ⚡

What is your favourite memory of that 2007 escape?

Carlos Tevez of West Ham celebrates after scoring his team's second goal during the Barclays Premiership match between West Ham United and Middlesbrough at Upton Park on March 31, 2007 in London, England. West Ham United's English striker #20 Jarrod Bowen celebrates after scoring the opening goal during the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and West Ham United at Stamford Bridge in London on January 31, 2026.
