Keiber Lamadrid in Paris for West Ham medical as visa update revealed in transfer

    Nuno Espirito Santo
West Ham United are closing in on yet another signing in the January transfer window.

Pablo Felipe was the first player to make the move to the London Stadium this month, coming in from Portuguese outfit Gil Vicente for a reported fee of just under £22million.

Taty Castellanos joined the Hammers just days after, and the pair started up front together as West Ham beat Tottenham 2-1 on Saturday, to end their winless run in the Premier League.

However, neither Pablo nor Castellanos got on the scoresheet, with Callum Wilson coming off the bench to grab the winner.

With Nuno Espirito Santo’s side now only five points adrift of safety, they are looking to add to their midfield ranks.

    MORE WEST HAM STORIES

The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to come in on loan to help the Hammers in their Premier League survival push.

According to Elias Lopez, Lamadrid is currently in Paris, undergoing his medical with the East London side and finalising contract details.

The Venezuelan international left pre-season training with Deportivo La Guaira last week ahead of his prospective move to West Ham.

Lamadrid is also waiting for his work visa to come through, which would then allow him to travel to England and complete his switch to the London Stadium.

    West Ham confirm midfielder exit

West Ham have room in their squad to bring in a new midfielder as Andy Irving has completed a permanent transfer to Sparta Prague.

Irving has joined the Czech outfit for an undisclosed fee, although it is reported that Nuno’s side received around £1.3m for the Scot.

The 25-year-old moved to the London Stadium in the summer of 2023 for £1.5m, meaning that the Hammers made a slight loss on him overall.

Irving never managed to establish himself in the first team at West Ham, making just three Premier League starts since his arrival.

Now it’s up to Lamadrid to make a name for himself in that spot.
