Leeds now targeting January move to sign £80,000-a-week Premier League midfielder

Leeds United are now reportedly targeting a move to sign a Premier League midfielder who wants to leave his current club in this month’s transfer window.
Farke “keen” on Danilho Doekhi
Whilst Leeds are yet to commence their January transfer business, they have threatened to steal plenty of headlines for their admiration of Danilho Doekhi.
The Union Berlin defender is on course to become a free agent at the end of the season and Daniel Farke is reportedly “keen” to secure his signature in the summer, although a January move has not been ruled out.
A move to sign the 27-year-old would certainly suit Leeds’ thriving 5-3-2 system and his goalscoring threat from set-pieces wouldn’t go amiss, either. Without having to splash out on a transfer fee, a deal to sign Doekhi makes perfect sense at Elland Road.
Before he potentially arrives, however, the Whites could be busy in the January transfer window amid ongoing rumours that they could strengthen their squad.
To that end, recent reports have name-dropped the likes of Harry Wilson, who has been in fine form as of late. The Welsh winger was a target at Elland Road in the summer, before a move ultimately failed to come to fruition. Now, he’s back on the 49ers’ radar.

And he’s not the only one. According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Leeds are now targeting a move to sign Joe Willock from Newcastle United this month.
The midfielder reportedly wants to leave Tyneside this month and has attracted interest from the Yorkshire club and Crystal Palace, as a result.
Leeds targeting move to sign Joe Willock
The £80,000-a-week Englishman has found himself on the fringes of Eddie Howe’s strongest Newcastle side this season and is seemingly on the hunt for the consistent starting role that Leeds could offer him.
Ever since he enjoyed an initial loan move, in which he burst into the best form of his career at Newcastle, Willock has failed to ever truly find his feet at St James’ Park. An exit, especially as the Magpies welcomed further talent, has looked like an inevitability for some time.
