Richard Keys blasts West Ham United for letting go of key figure behind the scenes
Richard Keys believes that West Ham United deserve to find themselves in this current predicament, given the decisions they have made in the past.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men find themselves in 18th place in the Premier League after their 3-2 loss against Aston Villa at the weekend.
West Ham are predicted to get relegated from the top flight and desperately need a good January transfer window.
What does Nuno need to do to FIX West Ham’s defence?
More points lost…

Richard Keys tells West Ham to be careful what they wish for
A few seasons ago, the Hammers were finishing in the top half and even won the UEFA Europa Conference League.
However, since then, it has been one relegation battle after another and they still cannot seem to get out of the bottom three.
Richard Keys believes that letting go of David Moyes was a big mistake and that they are paying the price for doing that.
Moyes was the manager to bring a European trophy to the London Stadium and he was let go by the club 11 months later.
In his blog, Keys wrote: “How West Ham must be missing the Moyes days – top half finishes and trophies. As we often say – be careful what you wish for.”
Keys is once again talking nonsense about West Ham and Moyes…
What do you make of his comments?

Was parting ways with Moyes the right decision?
Moyes played to the Hammers’ strengths and guided them to top-half finishes on three separate occasions.
He also won the Conference League and will forever be remembered for achieving that feat with West Ham.
However, by the end of his tenure, his ideas had become stale, and he was failing to get the best out of his players.

While the managers after him also did no better and were arguably worse, that does not mean that it was the right call to part ways with Moyes.
Also, Moyes wanted to leave at the end himself and even said so, making Keys’ point moot.
All parties decided that a fresh start was needed and it most certainly worked out for the Scotsman, given how well he is doing at Everton.
It will be interesting to see if Nuno can save West Ham from relegation and then build on that next season.
