Max Kilman likely to be dropped for West Ham United vs Aston Villa – Nuno has a replacement ready

Max Kilman played the full 90 minutes for West Ham in their 1-1 draw against Brighton on Sunday in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old started in the heart of defence, with Nuno Espirito Santo deploying a back three against the Seagulls.

Callum Wilson expected to start instead of Kilman vs Aston Villa

Callum Wilson came off the bench against Brighton and within seconds, he had a major impact on proceedings.

He capitalised on the mix-up in the Brighton defence and put the pressure on them in the 73rd minute of the contest.

Wilson was also quick to spot Jarrod Bowen’s smart run inside the box and perfectly timed a pass for the England attacker.

Bowen was the standout performer for me. Head in since minute one and gets the goal he deserved.

What does the future hold for Kilman at West Ham United?

At 28, Kilman is where he wants to be – playing regularly for a Premier League club.

However, he knows that his performances have been underwhelming lately and that Nuno could bring in a new defender in one of the next two windows.

Jean-Clair Todibo has taken his game to the next level this season and Mavropanos is arguably ahead of Kilman in the pecking order.

A new centre-back signing would see the Englishman becoming the fourth-choice and that could see him force his way out.

It remains to be seen if there are any Premier League clubs that would then sign him.

He could join one of the newly-promoted sides, as they are always looking for top-flight experience to give them the best chance to stay up.

They will probably pay more money as they will be desperate to sign a player proven in the top tier, so that is something the Hammers will be keeping tabs on.
