Nuno Espirito Santo sack fears to grow after latest West Ham reveal

West Ham face Brighton this weekend, and their record against the Seagulls is a sight for sore eyes.

West Ham are at risk of relegation this season, and despite sacking Graham Potter and hiring Nuno Espirito Santo, those fears remain as strong as they have been since day one.

The Irons are winless in three, having won just two of the nine fixtures that Nuno has been in charge of.

If results don’t improve in December, there is every chance that he could face the axe, and given their record against Brighton, it’s unlikely to improve this weekend.

Stats show that Brighton are West Ham’s weakness

West Ham are not expected to beat Brighton this weekend, and a big reason behind that is the form they have demonstrated this season.

    MORE WEST HAM STORIES

Only Forest, Burnley and Wolves have scored fewer than the Hammers, and only Wolves have conceded more than Nuno’s side.

However, their record against Brighton points to yet another defeat, and whether Nuno survives that remains to be seen.

Out of everyone they have faced on at least two occasions, West Ham‘s six per cent win rate against the Seagulls is the lowest.

The Irons have won one of their 16 meetings with Brighton in the Premier League, and that was back in 2023 when Michail Antonio, James Ward-Prowse and Jarrod Bowen were on the scoresheet.

However, it’s a record that goes much deeper than that, and will be cause for even more concern.

Brighton seem to love playing against West Ham

Not only have Brighton won four of their last seven encounters with West Ham, but they have also scored more goals against the Hammers than any other side.

The Seagulls have scored 31 times against the Irons throughout their time in the Premier League, which certainly suggests Sunday’s game isn’t going to be a boring goalless encounter.

Added to that, Brighton have won seven games against West Ham, which is a record only bettered by their history against Man United, when they have achieved eight victories.
