Tottenham star man among three players who must hang their heads in shame after their displays vs Arsenal

    Tottenham manager Thomas Frank

    Sun 23 November 2025 18:51, UK

Thomas Frank will be concerned after watching his Spurs team get humiliated in the North London derby against Arsenal.

Eberechi Eze, who Spurs wanted to sign in the summer transfer window, scored a hat-trick alongside a Leandro Trossard goal for Arsenal, as Spurs were thrashed 4-1 by their rivals.

It was Spurs‘ first defeat on the road in the Premier League this season, and raises questions over whether the squad will be good enough to make the top four under Frank.

Below are three of the multiple losers from Spurs’ disastrous afternoon at Arsenal, these players in particular must hang their heads in shame.

    Bentancur

    Rodrigo Bentancur

Offered zero protection in front of the Spurs back three, which became a back four in the second half, with the midfielder also picking up a yellow card.

Rodrigo Bentancur, who signed a new contract at Spurs earlier in the season, had a crucial role in midfield ensuring that Eze did not influence the game, but instead the Arsenal star grabbed three goals.

The 28-year-old won zero of his four ground duels as the Gunners controlled the contest and cruised to all three points.

    Micky van de Ven

The Spurs centre-back is the star man of the squad but he did not look settled in a back three and was constantly troubled by Bukayo Saka cutting in down the right flank.

Micky van de Ven, who is linked with a move away from Spurs, committed four fouls, the most of any player, and won just three of his seven ground duels.

The Dutchman’s passing accuracy was also poor, with just 69% of his passes finding a teammate, as Spurs struggled to keep possession.

    Wilson Odobert

Wilson Odobert was anonymous in the match, with the 20-year-old showing zero threat to Arsenal’s watertight defence.
