West Ham horror reveal points to nothing other than defeat vs Bournemouth

    Tue 18 November 2025 7:10, UK

West Ham United have a truly dreadful record in the Premier League this year in their first game back from international breaks.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham defeated Burnley 3-2 prior to the two-week hiatus to make it back-to-back victories.

Those wins came at the perfect time for Nuno and lifted the Irons level with 17th-placed Burnley, whom they now trail by goal difference alone.

West Ham take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, and Nuno will be eager to make it three league wins in a row for the Hammers for the first time in nearly two years.

But if one statistic is anything to go by, West Ham are staring at nothing other than a defeat this coming weekend.

West Ham yet to win a Premier League game after international break in 2025

West Ham fans will pack out the away end at Bournemouth, with hope once again renewed for the rest of the season thanks to those wins over Newcastle United and Burnley.

A point would be a positive return from the South Coast, but even that might be out of the question.

As per Opta, West Ham have lost their first Premier League game after all three international breaks in 2025 – in March, September and then in October.

No other ever-present Premier League side has done so this calendar year, so the Irons are out on their own in that regard.

Nuno has only been in charge for one of those games, with West Ham losing 2-0 to Brentford at the London Stadium on 20 October.

That was hopefully the nadir of this campaign, with that a truly shocking performance and one that left supporters fearful that relegation could actually happen.

West Ham have not won three successive Premier League games since December 2023, which they can put right this weekend.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have not lost three in a row in the top flight since May 2024.

West Ham results immediately after international breaks in 2025:

    • Wolves 1-0 West Ham (Molineux, 1 April)
    • West Ham 0-3 Tottenham (London Stadium, 13 September)
    • Brentford 2-0 West Ham (London Stadium, 20 October)

The Cherries were beaten by Manchester City and Aston Villa prior to the international break, having only lost one of their nine games prior to that.

Andoni Iraola’s men are still ninth in the Premier League, eight points better off that the Hammers, so Nuno’s charges will have to be at the top of their game on the South Coast.
