Adama Traoré isn’t the man to save West Ham – The West Ham Way

Once again, West Ham have been linked with a move for Fulham winger Adama Traoré.
The 29-year-old, who has been perenially rumoured with a move to East London, is on the Irons’ radar again following the appointment of Nuno Espírito Santo last month.
The Spaniard, who has eight senior caps for his country, played under the Hammers boss between 2018 and 2021 during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Since his time at Middlesborough back in 2017, the Irons have been linked with a move for the winger, who has one goal and two assists in games against the Hammers.
Traoré is currently struggling for game time at Fulham – he has started just one of their nine Premier League games this season and has averaged just 32 minutes per appearance in the league this season. As a result, he has been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage in January.
The winger was a consistent feature of Nuno’s Wolves side, so a reunion between the two isn’t totally out of the question. Traoré would offer cover for Jarrod Bowen on the right wing, and would also provide pace and power reminiscent of the recently departed Michail Antonio.
However, he has managed only four goals in 60 appearances in West London – and the Irons could use someone far more efficient in the final third. West Ham would be wise to seek additional attacking firepower in the winter window, but Traoré lacks the sharpness and end product required for a team so starved of goals.
