“Really good team”: QPR verdict delivered by Championship manager News: The72 – Football League News

QPR have been described as a ‘really good’ team by Derby County boss John Eustace.

QPR are back in Championship action this weekend. They face an away trip to Pride Park to play the Rams.

The Hoops head into their upcoming clash off the back of their 1-0 away win at Swansea City on Wednesday night. Striker Rumarn Burrell got their goal against the Swans in the first half in South Wales to help his side secure an impressive three points.

Eustace, who has managed the likes of Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers in the past, has had this to say about the R’s ahead of Saturday’s game, as per his club’s official website: “They’re a really good team who have recruited very well. They are well-coached. I went to their game on Wednesday night (a 1-0 away win at Swansea City). They are a very well-organised team that will be hard to play against. It’s going to be a difficult game, but it’s another one we’re really looking forward to.”

QPR are positioned in 8th place in the table and are only outside the play-offs on goal difference. They are level on 18 points with Hull City, Charlton Athletic and Stoke City.

    QPR latest update

QPR appointed Julien Stephan as their head coach back in late June. He was picked as their replacement for Marti Cifuentes, who has since linked up with fellow second tier side Leicester City.

The Frenchman arrived in England as a bit of an unknown quantity. Prior to his move, he had worked in his native country with the likes of Rennes and Strasbourg.

Apart from their 7-1 defeat at Coventry City back in August, he seems to have adapted well to life in his new country. He is becoming a popular man among the Hoops’ fanbase.

As Derby County’s manager Eustace alluded to, the R’s are a tough team to play against at the moment. They are well organised at the back and have threats to hurt opponents at the top end of the pitch which is an effective formula.

    What now for QPR?

QPR will be eager to keep their momentum going in their upcoming outing. They will be in for a tricky test against Derby County though.

The Rams won 1-0 against Norwich City on their own patch earlier this week. Midfielder David Ozoh scored their winner against the Canaries.

Eustace’s men will be in confident mood now as they eye a second victory on the spin. They have endured a tough start to this term overall and find themselves sat in 19th place in the table, three points above the drop zone after their first 11 fixtures.

QPR were active on the recruitment front over the summer and landed the likes of Richard Kone, Kwame Poku and Amadou Mbengue, among others, to bolster their ranks. They have the opportunity to sign some more players in January.

The Hoops will also get the chance to let some players head out the exit door later this winter as well if needed. They cut ties with individuals like Kenneth Paal, Lucas Andersen and Morgan Fox at the end of last season to free up space and funds.
