Weather warnings were issued in the past two days for severe thunderstorms and potential tornadoes around the Gulf Coast as a weather system moved across the southeast of the US. Over 11 million people were in the area placed under a 3 out of 5 tornado threat level on Tuesday, stretching from the Panhandle of Florida to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. This followed similar warnings on Monday which also covered parts of Florida.

Today, the Level 3 warning covers Tallahassee, Florida, Savannah, Georgia, Charleston, South Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida, with tornadoes and damaging winds a threat throughout. It continues as Storm Finn and winter storms in the midwest and northeast of the US also wreak travel chaos on the region, shutting down highways and causing flight cancellations.
