Predicted: Nuno Espirito Santo makes four major calls to name first West Ham team at Everton
Nuno Espirito Santo makes a whirlwind start to life as West Ham’s new head coach with a tough trip to face David Moyes’ Everton.
There are no easy games in the Premier League nowadays – just ask sacked West Ham managers Graham Potter and Julen Lopetegui.
Between the pair the Hammers only managed a pathetic 12 from 43 matches.
Nuno Espirito Santo may well need to reach that same number in the remaining 33 of this season if West Ham are to stay in the top flight.
It all starts for the Portuguese at Everton, who are unbeaten so far at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Hammers face a reunion with David Moyes, who has done a fine job since returning to the blue half of Merseyside.
Nuno has already impressed and inspired West Ham supporters with his first interview as Hammers boss.
Nuno impressing already at West Ham with words and actions
He may well impress many with his first team selection too.
Irons fans have long been calling for Potter to end his obsession with James Ward-Prowse.
After recalling him from a disastrous loan spell under Nuno at Forest, Potter made Ward-Prowse one of the first names on his teamsheet every week.
The 30-year-old midfielder has been left in east London for West Ham’s trip to Merseyside and it is not injury-related.
It comes as Nuno makes four major calls to name his first West Ham team at Everton.

We believe new signing Soungoutou Magassa – a player Nuno wanted to sign at Forest in the summer – will go straight into the team in Ward-Prowse’s place.
The second big call comes up front.
At Forest, Nuno got the best out of Chris Wood and many West Ham fans hope he may do the same for a similar profile of striker in Niclas Fullkrug.
It will be a toss-up between the German and Callum Wilson who starts. Wilson was excellent when he replaced Fullkrug in West Ham’s win at Forest.
Whether that influences Nuno’s decision remains to be seen but we think Wilson’s superior mobility and movement will see him get the nod to start.

Two more big calls come in defence.
It is known that Nuno tried to sign El Hadji Malick Diouf in the summer too. His superb performances have been a rare highlight for the Hammers this season, so his place looks assured.
Does Nuno stick with Konstantinos Mavropanos and Max Kilman, who he managed at Wolves?
Or will he bring in one or both of Jean-Clair Todibo and Igor Julio.
Providing Todibo turned up for training on time and actually put some effort in, he should be walking into this West Ham team.
Igor might have the kind of aggression the Hammers need at the moment too.

There is every chance Kilman could be dropped for Igor but we think the centre-backs will remain the same for now.
Right-back will be interesting too.
Many West Ham fans think Aaron Wan-Bissaka was one of the players to fall out with Potter.
He has been missing for three weeks with a ‘stomach issue’.
Potter said he would miss the Everton game with the same problem without going into any further detail.
Wan-Bissaka suddenly available and Areola to keep his place?
West Ham fans are convinced Wan-Bissaka will now be miraculously available for the trip to Everton.
If he is, he could come straight back into the side in place of Kyle Walker-Peters as he is exactly the kind of full-back Nuno loves working with who can get up and down like Matt Doherty and Ola Aina at previous clubs.
Finally there’s a big decision to be made in goal.
Nuno knows West Ham must put a stop to their ridiculously bad record of defending set-pieces and corners.
So we think he will stick with Alphonse Areola for now.
Let’s not forget, like Lopetegui before him, Nuno was a top goalkeeper as a player, so his choice between the sticks will be a well-informed one.
Predicted West Ham starting XI for Everton:
Areola, Wan-Bissaka (if suddenly available) and if not then Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf, Magassa, Fernandes, Paqueta, Bowen, Summerville, Wilson.
Everton vs West Ham is live on Sky Sports and kicks off at 8pm.
Official teams will be announced at 6.45pm.
