Tottenham’s dream attack after Thomas Frank’s Harry Kane transfer admission

Thomas Frank has confirmed that he would welcome Harry Kane back in a Tottenham shirt. Kane, 32, left Spurs in August 2023 to sign for Bayern Munich in a deal worth around £86million and he has since become a fan favourite at the Allianz Arena, scoring a whopping 98 goals in 103 appearances.

Kane helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title for the 33rd time last season, finishing as the division’s top scorer for the second straight campaign. The former Tottenham forward has made an electric start to 2025/26, finding the net 13 times in just seven matches across all competitions.

However, should he want to leave, Kane can activate his own exit from Bayern next summer. Indeed, Kane is believed to have a £56.7m release clause in his contract, though he has to inform the German club of his desire to depart before the end of January for the get-out agreement to become active.

Tottenham have the first option to re-sign Kane after former chairman Daniel Levy confirmed after his sale two years ago that a buy-back clause had been inserted into his Bayern contract.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s Carabao Cup tie against Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday, Frank admitted he would like to see Kane back in a Spurs shirt in the future. “I think there’s a lot of Tottenham fans including myself who would like to see Kane back,” Frank said in his pre-match press conference. “He’s a top player.

“Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now, if I’m honest, he’ll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well. He was top scorer last year and won the championship, he’s doing fantastic now.

I don’t know what he’s thinking. Myself, I’m a traveller, I like to travel, I like to explore things as well. He’s been here for many years so why not enjoy the time at Bayern a little bit more.
