Dave Roberts Sends Exciting Message About Yoshinobu Yamamoto

The Los Angeles Dodgers have gotten off to a strong start this season. After knocking off the Chicago Cubs on Friday night by a final score of 3-0, the Dodgers moved to 11-4.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto was absolutely dominant during his fourth start of the young campaign. He completed six innings, giving up just two hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts.

On the season, he has made four starts, compiling a 2-1 record to go along with a 1.23 ERA, a 0.91 WHIP, a 4.0 K/BB ratio, and 22.0 innings pitched.

At this point in time, the 26-year-old starter is beginning to show the superstar ability that was seen in him before Los Angeles signed him. His development has been clear and it has given the Dodgers clear reason for excitement.

Following his impressive start against the Cubs, manager Dave Roberts spoke out with an exciting message about the young rising star.

As shared by SportsNet LA, Roberts is noticing the improvement in Yamamoto’s game with each outing.

“Each time out, you see grown confidence,” he said.

Last season in his first year in Major League Baseball, Yamamoto started in 18 games. He went 7-2 in those starts to go along with a 3.00 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, a 4.8 K/BB ratio, and 90 innings completed.

Yamamoto, who hails from Okayama, Japan, is starting to look the part of an ace. If he can keep his current pace going throughout the rest of the 2025 season, Los Angeles is going to be in good shape.
