Chicago Sky forward showed unwavering support for her younger brother, Julian Reese, after the Maryland Terrapins’ tough Sweet 16 loss to the Florida Gators in the NCAA Tournament.
Despite the heartbreaking end to the Terrapins’ season, Angel Reese made sure to celebrate her brother’s efforts on and off the court.
Following the Terrapins’ 87-71 defeat on Thursday night, Angel Reese took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message.
“Proud of you! So excited for your next journey,” she wrote on Julian Reese’s photo.
Angel Reese, a former Maryland player herself, also showed her support during the game by wearing a black jacket that had “JuJu Sister” on the back. The front of the jacket displayed the words “I’m from Baltimore,” a nod to her roots and the pride she carries for her hometown.
Julian Reese had an impressive showing in the tournament, finishing the game against the Gators with 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Maryland’s basketball program also paid tribute to Julian Reese following the loss, posting a message on social media. Angel Reese quickly reshared the post, further highlighting her pride in her brother’s accomplishments.
As Julian Reese now faces decisions about his basketball future, including the possibility of declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft, Angel remains his biggest cheerleader.
Whether he continues his career at the collegiate level or takes the next step toward professional basketball, one thing is certain—his sister will be there every step of the way.

The Reese siblings have continued to make an impact in basketball, with Angel Reese thriving in the WNBA and Julian Reese proving his talent in college hoops.
