Luka Doncic Makes NBA History in Lakers’ Thrilling Win Over Mavericks
The energy in Crypto.com Arena was electric on Tuesday night as the Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Dallas Mavericks in Luka Doncic’s first game against his former team since he was traded over three weeks ago.
With Mavericks GM Nico Harrison, owner Mark Cuban, and his family watching from the crowd, Doncic delivered a memorable performance, recording his first triple-double in a Lakers uniform and leading Los Angeles to a 107-99 victory, who were led by Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.
According to Doncic made NBA history with his remarkable feat, becoming the first player to record a triple-double with five steals or blocks in his first game against his former team.
He finished the night with 19 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals, and two blocks. The win pushed the Lakers to a 3-2 record with Doncic on the court and improved their season record to 35-21, keeping them in the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference.
The buildup to the game was filled with emotion, and it was clear that both teams, especially Doncic, were feeling the weight of the matchup. After sinking a deep three-pointer in the first quarter, Doncic didn’t hesitate to turn around and shout toward the Mavericks’ sideline, letting his feelings be known.

Less than a year ago, Doncic led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals and, at just 25 years old, was expected to be their cornerstone for the future. However, he was blindsided by the trade, learning about it only moments beforebroke the news. This served as additional fuel for the Slovenian star.
Doncic will return to Dallas on April 9, in what promises to be an even more dramatic showdown. Mavericks fans were not happy with Nico Harrison’s decision to trade their fan-favorite player, making Doncic’s return to the city all the more intense.
