The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Charlotte Hornets 100-97 at Crypto.com Arena. LeBron James led the offense with 26 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds, and two blocks. However, he missed a couple of crucial three-pointers in the final moments that could have tied the game.

Recent arrival Luka Doncic contributed 14 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists during his 33 minutes on court, but he is still struggling to find his best form after being sidelined with a calf injury.

Doncic believes that he and LeBron will share the offensive responsibilities for the team:

“You know it’s both ways. He had it going, so obviously we’re going to go to him,” the Slovenian told reporters. “I think it will be both ways. So one time it’s going to be him, and one time me, so. I think it depends on how the games go.”

Luka Doncic still adapting to life in LA

The newcomer to the team acknowledged that he still needs to improve his performance and show his explosiveness in attack after his injury:

“Obviously, it’s going to take a little time,” Doncic explained. “Today, a lot of rustiness, on my part so, I started the game with four or five turnovers. That can’t happen. So I just gotta play basketball the right way”.

Currently, the Lakers are in fifth place in the Western Conference with a record of 32-21 with the Trail Blazers up next on Thursday at the Moda Center.
