Luka Doncic’s All-Star Break Activities in Wake of Lakers Trade Draw Attention
is not partaking in the All-Star festivities this year after he was forced to miss 22 games during the first half of the season due to a calf injury. After getting traded to the right before the NBA’s break in action, his activities during this down period have quickly caught the attention of fans.
The Dallas Mavericks stunned the NBA on Feb. 2 when they traded Doncic to the Lakers in a blockbuster deal, with Davis headlining the package coming the other way. The trade shocked everyone, including Doncic, who revealed he was
“You can imagine how surprised I was,” Doncic said at his introductory press conference with the Lakers. “I had to check if it was April 1. I didn’t really believe it. “It was a big shock. (Dallas) was home, so it was really hard moments for me … (But now) I get to play in the greatest club in the world, and I’m excited for this new journey.”

Doncic managed to return from his calf injury for two games before the break, as L.A. got their first look at their new duo of Doncic and While James is out in San Francisco representing the Lakers during the All-Star festivities, Doncic shared a picture of himself sitting by a pool watching basketball on Sunday.
In 24 games this season, Doncic is averaging 27 points, eight rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game while shooting 46% from the floor. The Lakers are hoping that his addition can make their team a title contender not just this year, but for years to come.
With a 32-20 record, Los Angeles holds the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, which would earn them a spot in the postseason. After going 8-2 over their final 10 games before the break, the Lakers will be looking to keep up the positive momentum when they return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 20 against the Charlotte Hornets.
