The Las Vegas Raiders have several needs to address during the 2025 offseason, with the quarterback position being the most prominent after the franchise once again failed to secure a long-term answer in 2024.

Las Vegas also needs to beef up its defense, and especially the pass rush. Malcolm Koonce is set to hit free agency and the Raiders don’t have a sure starter locked in opposite Maxx Crosby.

In order to address that need, TWSN has the Raiders making a massive move. The outlet predicts the Raiders will pull off a blockbuster trade for Cleveland Browns superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett.

“To have a successful back end of a defense which Pete Carroll specializes in you need to have dominant pass rushers up front,” TWSN wrote. “With Pete Carroll coming to the AFC West with first ballot hall of fame quarterback Patrick Mahomes with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Los Angeles Chargers with elite Quarterback Justin Herbert and seasoned 1st year starter Bo Nix for the Denver Broncos at quarterback it is clear in the AFC West to win you must have an elite pass rush to get after AFC West quarterbacks.

“This is why the Las Vegas Raiders must trade for Myles Garrett to pair with Maxx Crosby to pair bookend defensive ends to generate pressure on AFC West quarterbacks and the NFL and take pressure off the Raiders secondary to cover long periods of time,” TWSN added. “With Myles Garrett under contract for two more years you have time to get an extension done and potentially bring in a bridge quarterback like Aaron Rodgers or Kirk Cousins to win right now along with drafting a quarterback of the future in Shedeur Sanders for long term success. Pete Carroll will maximize Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby playing together getting the Las Vegas Raiders out of the AFC West basement and back into playoff contention.”

Of course, Garrett caused quite the stir recently when he requested a trade from the Browns. Garrett cited his desire to win a Super Bowl as the reason behind his demand.

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent,” he said. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

The Raiders have both the draft capital and funds to make a trade for Garrett work, and it would be incredible to watch a pass-rush with two elite players like Crosby and Garrett, both of whom would take Las Vegas’ defense to another level.

However, assuming the Browns actually cave and give Garrett at least some say in where he lands, chances are the six-time Pro Bowler won’t want to go to Sin City because the Raiders simply aren’t a contender right now.

But if the Browns go rogue and don’t adhere to Garrett’s wishes, it’s conceivable they’d target a trade with a Raiders team that is loaded with valuable draft picks.
