NBA Trade Rumor: Golden State Warriors Want To Go All-In On $194.2 Million Suns Star To Elevate Stephen Curry’s Title Hopes

The Golden State Warriors are making a serious effort to land Kevin Durant in a potential blockbuster trade, hoping to reunite him with Stephen Curry and strengthen their championship aspirations. While the Phoenix Suns have reportedly shut down talks of Durant being available before the Feb. 6 trade deadline, the Warriors’ front office remains persistent in its pursuit.

Golden State’s recent 104-99 victory over the Orlando Magic improved their season record to 25-24. While the win was crucial, it also highlighted a key issue—the lack of a reliable second-scoring option alongside Curry. The team managed to grind out a defensive battle against one of the league’s best defensive squads, but the narrow margin exposed the need for more firepower.

With Curry now 36 years old, Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy appears determined to give the franchise’s all-time leading scorer the support he needs. As reported by ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, “Outside of showing their usual interest in LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Warriors have also held conversations with the Phoenix Suns about just how available Kevin Durant is.”

Will Kevin Durant be open to the Golden State Warriors trade desires?

Despite the Golden State Warriors’ interest, Phoenix has been quick to dismiss any speculation about trading Kevin Durant. However, the Suns have unexpectedly become a focal point in league-wide trade discussions. Golden State understands that acquiring Durant would require a significant trade package, but given their past success with him, the front office remains willing to explore all options.

Durant previously played a crucial role in Golden State’s dynasty from 2016 to 2019, appearing in three consecutive NBA Finals and securing two championships alongside Curry. His return would immediately restore the Warriors’ status as title contenders, making the potential trade an enticing opportunity for both the team and its fanbase.

For now, the Warriors continue to battle through the Western Conference with their current roster, but their front office remains on high alert, hoping for any opportunity to bring Durant back into the fold.
