Chicago Bulls: Nikola Vucevic’s Stance on Golden State Warriors Trade Revealed
LaVine has recently been linked with a potential move to the Golden State Warriors to be the secondary scorer behind an ageing Stephen Curry, who is showing signs of slowing down.
LaVine is not the only Bulls player to be linked with a move to the Bay Area lately. It is the case for his longtime teammate, Vucevic, as well.
Would Vucevic want the Bulls to trade him to the Warriors though? Well, according to an article in The Athletic from Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II: “The Warriors have discussed Nikola Vučević, and league sources say the Chicago Bulls big man views Golden State as a desirable destination should Chicago decide to deal him.”
Vucevic has put together an impressive season so far. He is averaging a double-double with 19.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while shooting an incredibly efficient 54.6% from the field and 39.3% from three-point range.
So, it is not hard to see why the Warriors might hold interest in acquiring the veteran center from the Bulls as we head towards the Feb 6 trade deadline.
There are some concerns about whether Vucevic would be enough of a game-changer for the Warriors at this point in time. That remains to be seen.
One thing is clear though, Golden State need to make something happen over the next week if they are to have any hopes of putting up a title challenge this season.

Raptors Rumors: Toronto Linked To Three-Team Trade
The Toronto Raptors could look to get involved in a trade before the Feb. 6 deadline The Raptors are expected to be sellers between now and the trade deadline and could play a pivotal role in a Jimmy Butler trade. According to NBA insider Matt Moore of The Action Network, he outlined a potential three-team trade that could send Butler to the Golden State Warriors, Bruce Brown to the Miami Heat and Andrew Wiggins to the Raptors: “One framework two sources described as Golden State’s ‘hope’ involved Andrew Wiggins going out in the deal, either directly to Toronto or rerouted to Toronto from Miami for Brown. If Wiggins does not sound like the ‘significant piece’ Stein reported on to you, well, he’s not. But what he is a contract they can package with other things.” It was initially reporter by Doug Smith of the Toronto Star that league sources believe that the Raptors are trying to enter the Butler sweepstakes by being facilitators in the trade. The Raptors are valuable trade chips in expiring contracts including Bruce Brown, Chris Boucher and Davion Mitchell. ESPN’s Shams Charania noted that the Heat are engaged with the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns on a potential Jimmy Butler trade, however to execute a deal other teams would need to get involved, that’s where the Raptors come in handy as the third or even fourth team. Wiggins has been linked to Toronto in the past and this would bring him to his hometown team. He’s set to make $28 million next season and then $30 million for 2026-27. The Raptors can keep him to join fellow Canadian RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley or they can re-package in another deal. If Masai Ujiri elects to take players over draft capital in a deal, Wiggins to Toronto is a realistic possibility. Toronto team to monitor for Brandon Ingram trade Speaking of win now players, NBA insider Marc Stein recently reported that the Toronto Raptors are ‘a team to watch’ for Brandon Ingram ahead of the deadline.

Quinshon Judkins’ GPA at Ohio State surfaces after big honor
Earlier this week, Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins announced his plans to enter the 2025 NFL Draft after winning a national title in his lone season with the Buckeyes. “My time here at Ohio State was like no other,” Judkins told ESPN in a phone interview. “It was like no other place I’ve ever been. I enjoyed my time here so much. I’m ready to take the next step in my journey and prove I’m best running back in the draft class. “My coaches helped so much take my game to next level and develop me into a better player,” he said. “It was a super beneficial mentality to have being a pro, it helped me so much in that aspect. Playing around the best players in the country. You get to compete against the best players. It helped me sharpen my tools.” His decision to enter the NFL draft wasn’t the only news of the week for Judkins. Earlier this week, he was named to the Academic All-America Second Team after completing an impressive academic workload with the Buckeyes. Judkins leaves the school with a 3.64 GPA in Human Development and Family Sciences, according to the Academic All-America Team announcement this week. The star running back finished the 2024 college football season with 1,060 yards on the ground, while catching 22 passes for 161 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns for the Buckeyes. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has Judkins ranked as the No. 5 running back in the 2025 draft class.

David Cone sends message to Yankees fans about Juan Soto joining Mets
New York Yankees icon and current YES Network analyst David Cone made it known last spring that he had no problem with the fact that then-Yankees outfielder Juan Soto wanted to reach free agency following the 2024 season. Of course, Soto ultimately left the Yankees to sign a massive deal with the New York Mets. During a recent chat with Bob Klapisch of NJ Advance Media, Cone sent quite a message to Yankees fans who are still upset that Soto will be playing home games in Queens for the foreseeable future. “Get over it,” Cone said. “And how you get over it is just by what the Yankees are doing. You pivot.” Specifically, the Yankees acquired multiple big names such as ace Max Fried, outfielder Cody Bellinger, closer Devin Williams and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt after team owner Hal Steinbrenner was willing to give Soto $760M over 16 years. The slugger instead signed a 15-year, $765M contract that could exceed $800M total and included a $75M signing bonus, an opt-out after five years and no deferred money to join the Mets. “I was amazed at how far (the bidding war) went,” Cone said about Soto’s free-agency saga. “It’s really indicative of the current compensation system. You have someone like Soto, who drives everything up as far as it can go to find out what he can get in free agency.” Much was made in December about how Mets owner Steve Cohen and his wife, Alex, won Soto’s mother over by offering the 26-year-old a suite for his family at Citi Field along with other “family services.” Cone mentioned that he “can understand why” such extra touches would appeal to a superstar athlete. “I’ve seen it first-hand,” Cone explained. “The Cohen family, husband and wife, are dynamic. They can make you feel warm and fuzzy. I could see how Soto was going to feel that way about them.” Only time will tell if Steinbrenner is right about the Yankees having “a better team right now than we did a year ago today” and about not caving on a suite for Soto because players such as current team captain Aaron Judge and Yankees legend Derek Jeter have previously paid for suites. With that said, history shows Yankees fans won’t react kindly if Soto helps the Mets become the New York team that next celebrates a World Series triumph. “He’s looking for his own nest,” Cone added about Soto. “He feels warm and fuzzy with the Mets.”
