Bulls Veteran Is Reportedly Now Available On Trade Market

The Chicago Bulls signed Patrick Williams to a five-year contract in the summer, but it sounds like they are ready to say goodbye to him now.

According to Joe Cowley, per NBACentral, Williams is now available on the trade market and the Bulls are prepared to part ways with him.

Why the sudden change of heart and what can the Bulls get in exchange for him?

Williams is having perhaps his worst season yet, just months after inking that new deal with the Bulls.

He is averaging 9.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 38 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from the three-point line.

When he agreed to his new deal with the Bulls, the team’s front office envisioned him as the future of the franchise and someone they could build around.

With the losses of DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso, Williams had more opportunity to shine and lead the team but his chances of success have been met with some disappointment.

Now the Bulls are thinking he is someone they can use in a big trade to improve their roster for the seasons ahead.

The Bulls are trying to find a new direction and they thought Williams would be a part of that, but they are trying to find ways to offload him and his contract and find a new player, or players, to build around.

Williams obviously has serious potential despite his current rough patch, so Chicago could find a new home for him soon.

Will he turn things around in a different location with a new team?
