Packers’ GM Brian Gutekunst Makes Massive Christian Watson Announcement (Report)

The Green Bay Packers are going into the 2025 season looking to build on what they have.  The last two seasons have both resulted in a playoff berth for Green Bay, now they are looking to build a team that will make a post-season run.

Wide receiver Christian Watson figures to be a big part of that future if he can stay healthy.  General Manager Brian Gutekunst made an announcement regarding Watson.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (9) flexes as he does a “Lambeau Leap” with Packers fans after scoring a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. #Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said he doesn’t think there will be any major surgeries other than receiver Christian Watson’s this off-season.

He said Watson has not had the ACL surgery, which isn’t unusual.

Aside from explosive plays and touchdowns, the 25-year-old wide receiver has established himself as a locker-room leader.  Now he will be the only Packer to have a major surgery this off-season.

Watson concentrated on getting healthy again after a recurring hamstring injury derailed his 2023 season, even traveling to UW-Madison to undergo further testing to determine the source of the injury.

To end this season with another major injury was a tough blow, to say the least.
