Zach LaVine is arguably playing the best basketball of his career right now. In six straight games for the Chicago Bulls, he has scored more than 30 points while making 50% or more of his field goals in all of those contests.

Overall, LaVine is averaging 24 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 51.7% from the field and 45% from three-point range.

That is a fantastic run of form, especially considering the fact that the Bulls do not have the strongest roster right now.

Also, at 29 years of age, LaVine is very much in the prime of his career on the court. He also deserves bonus points for his professionalism.

Yet, it looks like the Bulls are having a tough time getting satisfactory trade offers for their superstar.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a team who have been constantly linked with LaVine for quite some time now. But it looks like those rumours are unlikely to lead to anywhere of substance.

According to Joe Cowley in the Chicago Sun-Times: “A source also said there was early-season talk about LaVine and the Lakers, but the puzzle pieces didn’t fit at the time. And with the Lakers recently trading guard D’Angelo Russell and his contract to the Nets for forward Dorian Finney-Smith, the puzzle has all but been thrown in the garbage.”

A lot of teams around the league could do with an in-form scorer like LaVine right now and yet, it looks like there is not enough movement when it comes to making a push to trade for the 29-year-old guard.

Understandably, the biggest hurdle when it comes to any trade for LaVine is his massive contract. But considering his performances this season, it might very well be a risk worth taking and in the right environment, he could help in a Championship push.
