The Kansas City Chiefs finished the season 15-2, but their wide receiver room lacked consistency and explosiveness at times. Their wide receiver corps has been a topic of discussion and could be a focal point in the offseason.

The Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowls since trading Tyreek Hill. However, it is clear that they are lacking a certain explosiveness they had with Hill. This season the Chiefs drafted Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce showed some signs of father time catching up to him. Hill signaled his intention to leave the Dolphins to reporters after the team’s final game and Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox suggested Hill could end up with the Chiefs again.

“I gotta do what’s best for me and my family,” Hill told reporters after the game. “If that’s here or that’s wherever the case may be, I’m opening the door. I’m out bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I got to what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

Hill had 959 receiving yards despite shaky quarterback play in 2024. Hill and Mahomes were one of the best combinations in the National Football League and he was a key player in the Chiefs run of success when he was in Kansas City.

“It’s not hard to connect the dots from Hill to the Kansas City Chiefs,” wrote Knox. “The Chiefs are projected to have $22.9 million in cap space next season and have a history of bringing back former players. While receiver Rashee Rice is expected to be healthy next season, the idea of partnering Hill with Rice and Xavier Worthy could be intriguing.”

Hill signed a three-year, $90 million extension in 2024. The Chiefs won two Super Bowls without him, but have to realize the impact he had on their offense. Hill is an eight-time Pro Bowler, five-time All-Pro and member of the Hall of Fame All-2010s Team.
