Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves
The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed defensive tackle Matt Dickerson to the active roster off the practice squad, activated wide receiver Grant DuBose off the injured reserve list and waived quarterback Skylar Thompson. The team also elevated tackle Ryan Hayes and long snapper Zach Triner to the active roster for Sunday’s game.
Dickerson is a six-year veteran who has appeared in 36 career games with Tennessee (2018-20), Atlanta (2022) and Kansas City (2023), recording 42 tackles (17 solo). He was signed to Miami’s practice squad on Oct. 25, 2024. He also spent time on the practice squad with Arizona in 2021. Dickerson entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tennessee in 2018. He played collegiately at UCLA, where he appeared in 45 games and recorded 93 tackles (48 solo), 1.5 sacks and four passes defensed in four seasons with the Bruins (2014-17).
DuBose signed with Miami on Aug. 28, 2024, and appeared in the first two games of the 2024 season, recording one reception for 13 yards. He entered the league as a seventh-round selection (256th overall) by Green Bay in the 2023 NFL Draft and spent the 2023 season on their practice squad. DuBose finished his collegiate career at Charlotte, where he appeared in 24 games with 20 starts in two seasons (2021-22) after transferring from Miles College. He recorded 126 receptions for 1,684 yards (13.3 avg.) and 15 touchdowns at Charlotte, where he ranked second in school history in career receiving yards per game (70.2) and fourth in career receiving yards (1,684).
Thompson has appeared in 10 career games with three starts in three seasons with Miami (2022-24), completing 81-of-138 passing attempts for 721 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. He entered the league as a seventh-round selection (247th overall) by Miami in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Kansas State (2017-21), where he started 40 career games, totaling 7,134 passing yards and 42 passing touchdowns while adding 1,087 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns.
Hayes was signed to Miami’s practice squad on Nov. 6, 2024, and spent the offseason and training camp with the Dolphins. He also spent most of the 2023 season on Miami’s practice squad after spending the first two weeks of the regular season on Indianapolis’ active roster. Hayes entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (238th overall) by Miami in the 2023 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Michigan, where he was a three-year starter and a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2021 and 2022, helping the Wolverines reach the College Football Playoff both years.
Triner has played in 83 career games in six seasons with Tampa Bay (2019-24) and Miami (2024). He also spent time on the practice squad with Green Bay at the end of the 2017 season. Triner appeared in Miami’s Week 13 matchup at Green Bay and Week 14 vs. the N.Y. Jets. He entered the NFL in 2017 as a free agent with the N.Y. Jets and played collegiately at Assumption College (2012-14) in Worcester, Mass.
