Insider Predicts $119 Million Astros Legend Will Betray Houston For Reunion In Detroit

The Houston Astros are desperately trying to re-sign their franchise cornerstone third baseman Alex Bregman this winter.

FanSided’s MLB insider, Robert Murray, doesn’t think Bregman will return to Houston. In fact, Murray indicates that he believes (purely based on vibes, as Murray states) that

“The Detroit Tigers are much improved under manager AJ Hinch and appear primed to be a consistent contender in the American League Central,” Murray wrote. “They have a young roster and the financial flexibility to sign a star, and considering Alex Bregman’s connection to Hinch – the two were together with the Houston Astros – a Bregman-to-Detroit signing makes plenty of sense.”

Murray goes on to state that the Astros and Bregman have had solid discussions and that Bregman is Houston’s top priority. That said, if it falls through, the Tigers are a solid landing place for the 30-year-old.

At this point in time, the Astros should be considered the favorites to land him, but it’s hard to ignore the growing list of experts that predict Bregman to reunite with Hinch in Detroit. The Tigers could use him at the hot corner, but it’s hard to imagine them paying Bregman north of $200 million.
