Steelers mock trade ideas that could be a preview of any potential deal

Adding a receiver is a priority for the Steelers and they can if they land one of these potential trades.

Those pesky trade rumors will not go away out of Pittsburgh. It makes sense for the Steelers to be in win-now mode after jumping to a quality record. The NFL trade deadline will be on November 5, which happens to follow the club’s bye week. That should give the organization plenty of time during an off week to potentially acquire talent. It could be the perfect time to add a receiver.

Almost every trade rumor surrounding the Steelers has the team attempting to upgrade their receiver position. It won’t be easy, but the black and gold should have plenty of options to choose from. A handful of teams are already out of playoff contention, and that should push Pittsburgh to add a piece or two before the deadline passes. Omar Khan has some work to do before then.

Steelers could upgrade at WR if they pull off one of these mock trades

    Cooper Kupp, WR, LA Rams

We will  especially after the team kicked off Week 8 with a big win. They reportedly want a 2nd round pick in return for salary retention. It would make sense for the Steelers to offer the Rams a conditional 3rd round pick that could jump to a second if they get to the Super Bowl. Something similar to what the Jets gave for Davante Adams.

Mike Williams, WR, New York Jets

Speaking of the Jets, the Mike Williams rumors will not go away. Now that Adams is in New York, it makes little sense for them to keep Williams around. They are a struggling team, and it might be best to try and get a draft pick in return for this rental option. The Steelers get a slight upgrade for a mid-round pick next year. Condition on this pick would be an appearance in the AFC title game, and it jumps to a fifth.

    Adam Thielen, WR, Carolina Panthers

Diontae Johnson can’t be traded to Pittsburgh, but his teammate, Adam Thielen could. He is under contract through the 2025 season, so the Steelers should ask for some sort of salary retention because of Thielen’s age. but he is still a veteran guy who could provide an upgrade at receiver. The conditional seventh is in case the Steelers win a playoff game this season.

Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants

Another pure rental option potentially available on the trade market is Darius Slayton. He doesn’t fit with the Giants this year, and it could be the cheapest alternative on the market for Pittsburgh. He is a proven veteran who can play both inside and outside for the Steelers. Slayton is currently on track to have one of the best seasons of his career. He would be a nice upgrade for a cheaper price.

    Christian Kirk, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

It has been rumored for the Steelers, but it remains on the back burner. Jacksonville has been a big disappointment this season, but it is unknown if they would sell off a piece like Christian Kirk before the trade deadline. He remains under contract through the 2025 season and has a hefty cap hit. The Steelers would love to add someone with his talents, but they would need some salary retention to get this deal finalized.

Jakobi Meyers, WR, Las Vegas Raiders

It was floated around about the when that whole trade saga happened. Las Vegas is rebuilding and they could use as many draft picks as possible to help jump-start their team. He’s an affordable option at receiver through next season. The biggest hiccup here is if the Raiders would be willing to move another receiver after they just moved Adams a couple of weeks ago.
