Miami Heat Could Trade Tyler Herro For $215 Million Superstar
A lot of fans have been left impressed by Tyler Herro in recent months. He seems to be playing with a chip on his shoulder and has certainly improved in several aspects of his game over the summer.
Even in the Heat’s season-opening loss against the Orlando Magic, he was one of their better players on a night Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo combined for 12 points.
That being said, if things don’t go according to plan for the Heat at the start of this season, the organization might start to look for alternative solutions.
One of them might be trading a large part of their future for a potential shot at winning now. That is where Herro and a few other players come in, along with draft picks.
In The Sporting News, Jonah Kubicek has suggested a trade that would see the Heat bring in Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks.
Kubicek wrote: “Assuming Atlanta is open to trading their best player, the Hawks will demand a future-driven package in return. The best Miami can offer is Tyler Herro (24 years old), Duncan Robinson (30) and rookie Kel’el Ware (20). Miami would have to sweeten the pot with first-round draft picks in 2029 and 2031 to pry Young away from Atlanta.”
Kubicek believes that if the Heat are able to bring in Young before the 2025 trade deadline, they would join teams like the New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers as legitimate challengers to the Boston Celtics. On the other hand, the Hawks would be entering a rebuild.
Young is one of the best players going forward in the NBA. After the first two games of the season, he is averaging 34 points, 11 assists and 6.5 rebounds.
Young does leave plenty to be desired on the opposite end of the court but if there is one team that is best placed to hide his weaknesses, or perhaps even improve upon them, it is Erik Spoelstra’s Heat.
