Here’s the Lakers incredible roster to open the 2024-25 season

Here’s the Lakers roster to open the 2024-25 season

The Lakers kick off the 2024-25 season on Tuesday against the Timberwolves. Here’s a look at their roster heading into their season opener.

The Lakers head into the 2024-25 season with lots of optimism under new head coach JJ Redick. After a disappointing 2023-24 season, the team turned to the first-time head coach to replace Darvin Ham.

The roster Redick will coach is nearly identical to the one Ham struggled with for most of the season, for better or worse. Ultimately, the team only saw Spencer Dinwiddie and Taurean Prince leave in free agency. Replacing them were rookies Dalton Knecht and Bronny James.

Interestingly, the Lakers will also head into the season without an open roster spot. In many years prior under vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka, the team has kept a roster spot open to make an in-season signing.

However, a new CBA and some pesky player options this offseason mean the Lakers are effectively running it back, for better or for worse. While in-season changes are certainly possible and maybe even likely, this is the roster the Lakers will have at least at the beginning of the year.

The team does also enter with three new two-way players than they ended with last year. Quincy Olivari  while Christian Koloko , if he gets cleared by the NBA.

All that being said, here’s a look at their roster heading into the start of the regular season:

    1. Max Christie
    2. Anthony Davis
    3. Rui Hachimura
    4. Jaxson Hayes
    5. Jalen Hood-Schifino
    6. Bronny James
    7. LeBron James
    8. Dalton Knecht
    9. Maxwell Lewis
    10. Austin Reaves
    11. Cam Reddish
    12. D’Angelo Russell
    13. Jarred Vanderbilt
    14. Gabe Vincent
    15. Christian Wood
    16. Christian Koloko*
    17. Quincy Olivari*
    18. Armel Traore*
      *Two-way contract

It’d be a surprise if the Lakers kept this roster through the whole season, so be sure to stay up to date on the site for the latest roster moves and transactions.
