We’ll have to wait until next week’s Golden State Warriors season opener to see Steph Curry in action again. A few hours before the  against the Los Angeles lakers, the Warriors announced that Curry will not play in the game, after spraining his right index finger in practice. According to the Bay Area News Group’s Danny Emerman, there will be a domino effect with Curry’s absence, and Golden State will likely play the game more like an early-preseason contest, rather than a late-preseason one.

The large starting lineup, however, will stay in place, with De’Anthony Melton taking Curry’s place alongside Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, and Trayce Jackson-Davis.
