Noah Lyles ‘signs’ and Tyreek Hill verbally agrees as blockbuster race takes step closer – NewsBreak

The highly-anticipated race between Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill could be one step closer to coming to fruition .

On Sunday, it was reported that Super Serious, a company co-founded by megastar Terry Crews, had gotten confirmation from both the Olympic champion and the Super Bowl champion would be willing to race one another. The race will be a part of Duael competition, specifically the “Super Serious On Sight.”

The series will focus on Olympic racers taking on other professional athletes in an elimination-style tournament, according to an Ad Age report. The report also claims Crews received a verbal confirmation from Hill while Lyles has signed on for the project, per FloTrack .

If the race were to come to life, it would answer questions regarding who the fastest between the two are. Throughout the summer, Lyles and Hill exchanged in a verbal back and forth, with Hill accusing Lyles of faking an illness after finishing third in the men’s 200m final during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

After the race, Lyles revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19, attributing getting the virus as the reason for his loss. Speaking on the “Up & Adams Show” with Kay Adams, Hill did not hold back on what he thought of Lyles after his loss.

“Noah Lyles can’t say nothing after what just happened to him,” Hill asserted . “He wants to come out and pretend that he’s sick… Just speaking to what you know about, and that’s track.”

When asked by Adams who the fastest athlete between the two of them was, Hill did not mince his words. “I would beat Noah Lyles,” he said emphatically. “When I beat him, I’ll put on a COVID mask and let him know I mean business.”

In response to Hill’s claims, Lyles pretended to not know who the Miami Dolphins star was. As he was asked about Hill, Lyles stated : “What’s that guy? What’s the cheetah guy from football? I can’t remember his name.”

Known as one of the fastest players in the NFL, Hill’s best 100m time was 9.98. Lyles’ gold medal-winning time was 9.79 in Paris. In any race between the two, Lyles would have to overcome a slow start. The American star has been known to start races slow before engaging another gear to win a race.

Lyles’ teammate Twanisha Terry believes that is the case for Lyles, if he were to beat Hill in a race. Speaking on “The OGs” podcast, Terry shared her perspective on a potential super race between the two men.

“I don’t know what Tyreek’s start looks like,” Terry said, per Essentially Sports. “You can have the best start but Noah closes. He (Hill) is going to get run down in the 100m.”
