The Kansas City Chiefs Need to Trade For Tyreek Hill to Save Their Season
As the Miami Dolphins continue to struggle, frustrations are starting to grow. Mike McDaniel is failing the team, and for a star player like Tyreek Hill, he has already let his frustration show. It’s only a matter of time before a trade is on the horizon, and that will include a trade back to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hill started his career originally on the Chiefs back in 2016, then in the 2022 offseason his trade to Miami happened. Over the span of his first six seasons, he accumulated 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns over 479 receptions, while adding on 719 yards rushing. Andy Reid was able to figure out how to unlock the potential of Hill, and in doing so, unlocked the full potential of his offensive scheme.
When Hill went to the Dolphins, he was able to carry over his production his first two seasons there. Enough so that Hill even saw a career high in yards in just 2023 with 1,799. Hill is still a top-tier receiver in the NFL, but the offense of Miami is in a bit of a bad spot at the moment. The future of Tua Tagovailoa remains unknown, and the McDaniel system is showing flaws without him. If they can’t turn things around quickly, they need to embrace a rebuild, and how they do so is by trading Hill.
This is the ideal scenario for the Chiefs. With Rashee Rice’s knee injury, and going on injured reserve, he will miss time this season. As Travis Kelce regresses, Rice was becoming the top target for Patrick Mahomes.
Without Rice, that WR1 spot is wide open, and who better to fill it than Hill. Mahomes knows and trusts Hill, Hill knows the offensive system, and most importantly, Reid knows how to maximize the skills of Hill.
The Chiefs need to do what it takes to get this trade done, as the future of their 2024 season depends on it.
