Steve Kerr Remembers Disappointing Draymond Green Moment
Draymond Green is not necessarily an angry person, but when his anger boils, it consumes him. Last season, Green allowed his rage to become him and ruin the season. However, Steve Kerr has another moment that ranks higher on his list of Green moments that made him the angriest. The Golden State Warriors head coach shared the story on the Dan Le Batard Show.
“For sure, the Jordan Poole incident… He crossed the line with Jordan and he knows it. He knew it immediately, and it made that season incredibly difficult for everybody,” Kerr said.
Although the league does not condone striking opponents, touching teammates makes for a toxic locker room. Green betrayed his teammate’s trust by hurting the young Poole, especially in front of the whole team and, by chance, the entire world due to the footage hitting the internet.
Even if Poole “had it coming” due to his trash-talk, Green had ample resources to get through to the young guard as a veteran leader before knocking him out for the world to see.
Green’s actions ultimately broke up a championship team and forever stigmatized the elite defender as problematic.
Kerr has advocated for Green in public for years, though they clash often behind the scenes. It’s for the greater good of the Warriors, which Kerr understands, and Warriors fans hope Green realizes.
Will Green learn from his past actions for the 2024-25 season, or will Kerr continue to clean up his rage-fit messes for the duration of his time with Golden State?
