Las Vegas Aces Make Big Announcement Before Game Against Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark

The Las Vegas Aces shared big news ahead of a WNBA showdown against the Indiana Fever

The Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever will face off for the third time this season on Wednesday (Sept. 11) in a battle of teams trying to preserve their positions ahead of the playoffs.

Indiana (19-17) enters the game against Las Vegas in sole possession of sixth place in the overall WNBA standings, two games clear of seventh-place Phoenix but 2 1/2 games behind fifth-place Seattle. Both teams hold the tiebreaker advantage on the Fever, who have four games remaining, should they finish tied.

Las Vegas (22-13) is in fourth place, but only one game ahead of Seattle. The Aces are 3 1/2 games behind third-place Connecticut Sun with five games remaining.

Even if the game doesn’t offer a playoff series preview, a superstar battle between A’ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark will always be intriguing and must-watch television.

Wilson missed Sunday’s game against the New York Liberty due to a leg injury, but a pregame update from Las Vegas head coach Becky Hammon indicated she had little concern about a long-term absence for Wilson.

The Aces’ injury report on Tuesday was clean, meaning Wilson is expected to return for Wednesday’s game against Indiana.

The Aces are 2-0 against the Fever this season, defeating them in Las Vegas both times. This rematch will be played in Indiana, where the Fever are 11-6 on the season.

Indiana owns the WNBA’s second-best record (8-2) since the Olympic break, trailing only the Minnesota Lynx (9-1), who have handed Indiana both of its losses in that time. The Aces are 6-5 since the WNBA schedule resumed.

Wednesday’s game between the Aces and Fever projects to be an exciting one.
