The Houston Astros received a big boost on Friday as they look to strengthen their grip on the top spot in the AL West. The team welcomed back All-Star outfielder Kyle Truck after he was sidelined for more than three months due to a shin injury.

Tucker was hurt in a 7-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in early June and was initially diagnosed with a shin contusion. But it turned out that he was actually dealing with a shin fracture, which explains his lengthy absence.

While it was expected that Tucker would receive a minor-league assignment before returning to MLB, Houston opted for a different strategy. They activated the 2023’s AL RBI leader off the Injured List on Friday and immediately used him in 8-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Tucker got no hits in his two at-bats and had a walk.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Tucker said that he feels good on the plate but recognized the need for some adjustments.

“There are a few things, I’ve got to make a few adjustments just in terms of being live in a game. But I do a pretty good job at making adjustments pretty quick,” Tucker said.

Before the injury, Tucker was putting together one of his best seasons as a pro. He batted .266 with 19 homers, 40 RBIs, and 10 steals en route to his third consecutive All-Star selection.
