LeBron James takes on Caitlin Clark’s haters: I love it!
Caitlin Clark has been making waves in the WNBA with her recent performances, silencing critics in the most effective way possible. The 22-year-old rookie has continued to elevate her game, having just recorded her second career triple-double in a pivotal match against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Her stat line of 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists helped secure a 93-86 victory for the Indiana Fever, moving the team up the Eastern Conference standings and putting to rest any doubts about her capabilities.
LeBron hails Clark
Her achievements haven’t gone unnoticed by some of the biggest names in basketball. LeBron James took to social media to celebrate Clark’s latest performance, even though it came at the expense of his hometown WNBA team.
Rather than focusing on the loss, LeBron highlighted Clark’s triple-double on his Instagram story, playfully captioning it “Hi HATERS!!!!!! I love it,” alongside a series of laughing emojis.
Just a few days earlier, LeBron was quick to acknowledge her dominant weekend, during which she delivered a career-best performance of 31 points and 12 assists in a game against Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky.
She followed that up with another commanding display, putting up 28 points and 12 assists against the Dallas Wings. LeBron, known for supporting young talent, made sure to acknowledge her back-to-back stellar performances.
The Fever have secured their first playoff spot since 2016, breaking the longest active playoff drought in the league, which was tied with the Chicago Sky’s seven-year absence from 2006-2012.
“I’m just really happy for this organization,” Clark said. “Longest drought in WNBA history not making the playoffs. Look at these fans, they’re incredible. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t know if we’d be here.”
